01 / EXPERTISE

Where disciplines connect,
I do my best work.

From designing a room’s AV system to improving the processes behind an entire project, I bring both the technical and operational perspective.

01

Commercial AV design

Thoughtful systems, clear documentation, and decisions grounded in how a space will actually be used.

System design / AutoCAD / AV-over-IP / DSP
02

Technology & operations

Connecting technical teams, project requirements, and business priorities to keep complex work moving.

Project delivery / IT infrastructure / Procurement
03

Better ways of working

Turning disconnected information and repetitive tasks into practical tools and more dependable processes.

02 / SELECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Practical improvements.
Across the whole picture.

A few examples of how I connect technology and operations to help people do their work.

SYSTEMS DESIGN

From requirements
to a buildable system.

At Technology Providers Inc., I translate client requirements, site conditions, and budgets into coordinated AV designs and installation documentation.

THE CONTRIBUTIONComplete drawing packages, equipment specifications, and scope coordination that connect engineering with field delivery.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS

A clearer view of
projects and purchasing.

At Performance Audio Video, I built a central tracking system linking sales, purchase orders, schedules, committed costs, and expected customer payments.

THE CONTRIBUTIONBetter visibility into purchasing commitments and cash-flow exposure to support operational decisions.
WORKFLOW IMPROVEMENT

From a paper book
to a shared workflow.

At Geek Squad, I designed and developed a web-based appointment-request portal for sales and installation teams.

THE CONTRIBUTIONStandardized installation requests and less manual scheduling work, with clearer handoffs between teams.

04 / ABOUT

Sean Michael McDonald
Sean Michael McDonaldPhoenix, Arizona

Curiosity connects
the dots.

My story started in Florida. I grew up in Wisconsin, where my education and work ethic took shape. Eventually, I got tired of the snow and traded it for the desert. Phoenix is home now.

That hands-on mindset has carried me from vehicle electronics and home theater into commercial AV engineering and business operations. I’m at my best when I can understand how something works, connect the pieces, and make it better.

A true geek at heart.

I have a surplus of technology and somehow never enough monitors. I enjoy driving, riding, and working on cars and motorcycles—especially the electronics, upgrades, and challenge of getting more out of them.

I love blasting music and watching movies, and life at home includes my three dogs. I also keep a few projects of my own moving: building websites, helping my dad bring his golf-cart hobby online, and developing an independent research project.
